Tuyet-Lyn Christensen MFT

When something keeps repeating—and you’re drawn to understand it more deeply

Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, listen more closely, and begin to understand what may be unfolding beneath the surface.

Individual Therapy in Berkeley and Petaluma with Tuyet-Lyn

There are moments when something in your life no longer feels quite right—patterns repeat, reactions feel familiar, or a quiet sense of disconnection or longing begins to surface.

I offer individual therapy for adults seeking deeper insight, meaningful change, and a more connected relationship with themselves.

My work is grounded in relational, somatic, trauma-informed, depth-oriented, and parts-based approaches—supporting a deeper understanding of how your experiences live in your body, your relationships, and your inner world.

Sessions are available online and in person in Berkeley and Petaluma.

A Space to Slow Down and Listen

Therapy with me is a space to listen—to your thoughts, your emotions, your body, and the different parts of you that may be asking for attention.

We move at a pace that allows something real to emerge, with care for both what is immediately present and what may be unfolding more quietly beneath the surface.

When You Might Seek Therapy

You might be noticing:

  • Patterns in relationships that are hard to shift

  • Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or internally conflicted

  • A sense of being different or not fully understood

  • Difficulty accessing or expressing what you feel

  • Carrying a lot for others, while your own needs go unattended

  • Different parts of you pulling in different directions

Something in you may already be paying attention.

My Approach to Individual Therapy

Individual therapy with me is a space to gently explore your inner world with curiosity and care.

My work is guided by five interconnected areas:

  • Relational work — understanding how your ways of relating have been shaped in connection with others

  • Somatic awareness — noticing how your experiences are held in your body, not just your thoughts

  • Trauma-informed care — honoring how past or overwhelming experiences may still be shaping your present

  • Parts work — getting to know the different parts of you that carry, protect, adapt, and express

  • Depth work — making space for what lives beneath the surface, including emotions, patterns, and meaning

Together, we begin to notice:

  • The patterns that continue to repeat

  • The ways your experiences live in your body

  • Parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside or quietly carrying a lot

  • The deeper emotional layers beneath your reactions

  • What begins to shift when there is space, attention, and care

My approach is warm, grounded, and attentive to your pace. I hold space for complexity, nuance, and the parts of you that may not have had room to be fully seen or understood.

What We Can Work On Together

  • Recurring emotional or relational patterns

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or internal tension

  • Identity exploration and cross-cultural experience

  • Navigating life transitions and change

  • Deepening self-understanding and self-trust

  • Working with nervous system responses and embodiment

A Gentle Invitation

If you feel drawn to understand your experience more deeply, this can be a place to begin—especially if something in you senses that staying the same is no longer what you need.

If something in you is curious about working together, I invite you to connect.

We can begin with a conversation to sense whether this feels like the right fit—a place where you can land, explore, and be supported in the ways you need.
